　　Franklin's Robot

　　Franklin could count by twos and tie his shoes. He could make a kite that could fly and a boat that could sail. But one day, Franklin wanted to make a robot that could do everything.

　　We've got a lot of sand to move out of here if we're gonna build this castle!

　　It's a good thing I brought my robot! Just tell him what to do, Franklin.

　　Robot: Shovel up the sand.

　　Shovel sand...shovel sand...

　　Now we need water. Robot, Pour that bucket of water right here!

　　Pour water... pour water...

　　Good job, robot! I wish he was a real robot.

　　Yeah. Then we could make a sand castle as big as a real castle!

　　Forget the sand castles. I'd tell it to clean up my room!

　　Good idea. But first robot would do Fox's chores and make his bed.

　　Make bed, make bed...It would be pretty neat, wouldn't it?

　　Hm...Yeah. Hey, why don't we build a robot? My dad has tons of space parts we can use. Come on!

　　Oh boy! Our very own robot!

　　Whoaoaoaoa!

　　Wow. Our robot looks great!

　　Yeah! And that automatic eye is amazing!

　　Thanks. It is pretty neat, isn't it.

　　Hey, what are you guys doing?

　　We made our very own robot?

　　Hmmm...it looks more like a pile of old junk than a robot.

　　Can it do anything?

　　Is that all?

　　I thought robots were supposed to do all kinds of stuff... Can it walk? Or play checkers?

　　No...just the eye lights up.

　　Some robot- I have a night light that can do that.

　　Oh, well, that's... because... it's not, eh finish yet, eh. By the time we're done. it'll clean our rooms, bring us milk and cookies, do all kinds of thing! Just wait.

　　Okay, we'll wait... probably forever!

　　Do you think we can make our robot do all those things, Fox?

　　Well we have to now...unless we want Beaver and Badger to laugh at us for the rest of our lives.

　　Hmmmm...Hey... I just thought of something we can put inside our robot to make it do all kinds of thing.

　　You'll see. I'll make this robot to more than just wink. A lot more!

　　Are you sure they can't see me under here Fox?

　　Don't worry Franklin, they won't suspect a thing.

　　Wow. A real robot!

　　Hi guys!

　　Amazing!

　　I can't believe it.

　　Wow, I'll bet it can do anything!

　　That's enough, guys! The robot's getting tired...

　　How can a robot get tired? It's a robot!

　　..uh, well, I mean, I think it's starting to overheat. Maybe we should get it a rest!

　　I didn't think you could do it, Fox. but your robot is just as great as you said it would be!

　　I've never seen anything like it!

　　Yes, I'd have to say it's the most amazing thing I've ever built. Oow! Uh, oh yeah. It's Franklin's robot too. We built it together.

　　Hey, where is Franklin anyway?

　　Oh, uh... he had to clean up his room I think.

　　Why would Franklin do it when he's got a robot to do it for him?

　　Yeah! If I was him I'd ask my robot to do All my chores!

　　Fox, can I borrow your robot? My room needs cleaning too, and after all, that is what robot are for!

　　Ah...well...I don't know...

　　Aw, come on, Fox. You're not going to hog it all for yourself, are you?

　　Well...okay, I guess. Um, but first I have to take the robot home to recharge its batteries. I'll bring it over a little later, okay?

　　Great! I can't wait!

　　Whew. I'm boiling. Now what are we going to do?

　　Maybe we can just tell everybody that the robot's broken.

　　And what if they wanna watch us fix it?

　　Ooooo Yeah. You're right. We need a different plan.

　　It seems like the more we try to trick everybody, the more things we have to do keep tricking them.

　　I know what you mean. But, I don't want to tell them truth now. They think our robot is amazing.

　　So what are we going to do?

　　Well, I don't know you Franklin, but I guess I have a bedroom to clean.

　　Wow! My bedroom has never looked this good! And switching my bookcase and bed around was a great idea Goose.

　　It even put all your books from tallest to smallest!

　　That robot can do as much work as ten of us!

　　Yeah! It can do my chores next!

　　This calls for a celebration! Who wants lemonade?

　　Me!/I do!/ I do!

　　Franklin, stop! Robot can't drink lemonade! It makes them rust!

　　Oh, yeah. I'm sorry, robot. Maybe I should go get Fox, you know how he loves lemonade.

　　Want to come along, robot?

　　Hi guys.

　　Hi, Fox, want some lemon-ade?

　　Gee. Franklin was right. You do love lemonade.

　　Ahhh...

　　Where did Franklin go? And where's the robot?

　　Franklin? Oh, ah he took the robot to a nice, shady spot to cool off.

　　Great! Can I borrow him next?

　　No me! I need him to take out the garbage!

　　I wanted him to pick beans for me!

　　Whoever finds the robot gets to borrow it first!

　　W-wait, guys! Heh... Don't go that way. Take the short cut.

　　Ok, come on!

　　I'm the first!

　　...and when they find me. I'll be standing under the sprinkler, right?

　　Right. And your circuits are all wrecked.

　　That's right, and I'm rusted solid and I can't move, and I'm scrap metal.

　　Hey. I think I see them!

　　Franklin! Where's the robot going?

　　I knew it.

　　Heh, heh. What do you know? It's Fox.

　　And I never noticed how we never saw both of you together at the same time with the robot.

　　I'm just glad I found out after you cleaned my room!

　　Yeah, I guess you were right, Beaver. Building a real robot is way to hard.

　　And pretending to be one is even harder.

　　But you did make a robot. And it looks really neat!

　　But it doesn't do anything.

　　Yes, it does Fox. Remember?

　　Hey look!/ Whoa, it's eye lights up!

　　How did you get it to do that?

　　Well, we used an old flashlight for the battery compartment, and some parts from a nightlight. When there's a shadow over the nose, the light goes on.

　　That's great!

　　Yeah, it is a kind of neat-looking.

　　It's like the world biggest night-light. Can I borrow it?

　　No me!

　　Can I have a turn first?

　　I asked first.

　　You can all have a turn. But there's something I have to put inside it first.

　　What?

　　What do you have to put in it?

　　Yeah, what?
