French police are searching for the lone gunman who opened fire at the head offices in Paris ofthe Liberation newspaper and Société Générale bank, the head of the Paris prosecution servicesaid video footage indicated the attack was carried out by the same man who threatenedjournalists of a television station on Friday. The gunman made his escape on Paris' mostcelebrated street des Champs-Elysees. A photographer's assistant was severly wounded inthe shooting at Liberation. The council can not force him from office as he has not been convicted ofcriminal offense but it says he has become an embarrassment to the city.
