常常会面对学生这样的疑惑，“老师，我学雅思，为什么还要学语法?”虽然在雅思考试当中，听说读写四科并没有单独涉及考语法的部分，但是语法这一基础项在听说读写当中举足轻重的作用是不容忽视的。尤其是在阅读和写作两项当中，烤鸭们普遍会感受到来自阅读中长难句的压力，写作分数千年5.5的瓶颈，而这些都是不好逾越的难点。

 阅读长难句并不是一个专有的句式，无非就是掺杂了各种各样的语法知识点。学好语法理论的基础知识，分析出主干想表达的意思，才会攻克长难句，提高理解的准确性。

我们可以看一个出现在阅读中的句子‘If a laser couldgenerate a line of ionisation in the air all the way upto a storm cloud, this conducting path could be usedto guide lighting to Earth, before the electric field becomes strong enough to break down theairin an uncontrollable surge.’

考生们初见这句话会觉得很有难度，可通过分析之后可以看出这无非就是一个if所引导的非真实性条件状语从句和before所引导的时间状语从句结合在一起的长难句。

首先要划分出if所引导的非真实性条件句的从句部分If a laser could generate a line of ionisation inthe air all the way up to a storm cloud和主句部分this conducting path could be used to guidelighting to Earth, before the electric field becomes strong enough to break down the air in anuncontrollable surge，之后对于主句部分再次进行分析是由before所引导的时间状语从句和主句的结构。像这样层层深入，句子主干框架和意思就会缕顺清楚。

而根据写作中对于语法这一方面5分的评分标准写到‘uses only a limited range ofstructures’‘attempts complex sentences but these tendto be less accurate than simplesentences’，而写作6分对于语法的要求‘uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms’‘makessome errors in grammar andpunctuation but they rarely reduce communication’

这说明中国学生难以逾越的5.5分作文不仅是使用句式的局限性，而且最基本是出现了语法错误，而这一类的语法错误常常是主谓不一致(When one have money, he can do what he want to.)，可数名词单独存在(In my opinion, student should study abroad.)，时态中的动词形式使用不当(In the past, family isa very important concept in many people’s minds. )，被动语态中动词形式使用不当(Some peoplethink that old buildings should preserve.)，词性使用不当(Nobody can negative the importanceof education./Intelligent students should not be treated different by their teachers.)和介词使用不当(Despite globalization has brought these problems, it has made our lives colourful.)等。这些语法知识点虽说很简单，但确是常被忽略的易错点，也是特别值得考生重视突破千年5.5分魔咒的解药之一。

在语法体系中，我们常常分为三大框架来为学生们输入信息：单句，复句，特殊句式。这三部分难度是依次增高的，所以如果单句部分的基础不牢固在复句中这种错误也会继续遗留下来;同样如果单句复句都会出现错误，那么特殊句式虽说可以作为加分项，但是考官还是会从考生所写的单复句中察觉出考生不扎实的语法。所以归根结底，掌握好语法知识是听说读写四项的基础，也强烈建议考生们不容忽视。
