We should see nothing [00:46.17]but barren fields, overrun with weeds and briers; [00:49.34]and the farmer would feel that a winter of want [00:52.29]and distress was before him.And let us remember [00:56.12]that the autumn of life will come on apace; [00:59.73]and that what we now sow, we shall then reap. [01:03.24]If we would reap an abundant harvest, and gather [01:08.49]precious fruit, and secure an autumn of plenty [01:11.01]and prosperity, we must now, in the springtime of life, [01:13.52]be diligent and careful in cultivation of our hearts. [01:16.58]We must form only those habits which will produce good fruits. [01:20.41]Our acts must be noble, our thoughts and our words [01:24.57]must be pure, and our feelings must be kind. As we now sow, [01:29.27]we shall then reap. If we “sow to the wind, [01:33.54]we shall reap the whirlwind”.
