Perms are back in style and they're certainly not what they used to be. Instead of giving you a mess of frizzy curls, as was popular in the 1980s, modern perms tend to provide you with waves and curls that are much more sleek and relaxed — but, can they still cause damage to your hair? "I only recommend washing sooner if you want to break up the curls to achieve a softer, semi-permanent beachy-waves look," celebrity hairstylist Sascha Breuer told InStyle.
