1.   carry away 意为【带走，冲走】；the last 指的是【the last time】，最后一次，后面定语从句    ：that ever she saw him 修饰此句，意思是【她最后见他的那一次】。该句应该  是 个省略了动词was的被动结构，那么全句应该是The last that ever she saw him was carried away by a moonlight shadow，那是她最后一次见到他，因月之阴影而悄然离去。

2.   pass on 意为“消失，去世”；

3.   caught 是catch（抓?。┑墓シ执剩鴅e caught in是个管用搭配，意思是“陷入，卡住”，指处于某种艰难的处境而无法自拔。例如：
     
     My umbrella is caught in the door. 我的雨伞被车门夹住了。
    
     A whole region is caught in a terrible tension. 整个地区处在极度的紧张气氛之中。 

4.   desperate 是形容词，意思是“情急拼命的，极端的，险恶的”，所以a desperate fight意思就是“殊死搏斗”。

6.   whisper 意思是“低语，耳语”。

7.   sorrow and grieving 是两个意义相近的名词连用，表示强调，第二行中的sing也是对应第一行the tree的谓语动词。

8.   silhouette 是名词，意思是“轮廓，侧影”；on the run是习语，意思是“忙个不停，在逃”，在这里当然是第二种意思，a man on the run指的就是正在逃跑的人。

      这首歌是作曲家Mike Oldfield为纪念约翰·莱侬所写的歌，收录在1983年的专辑「Crises」中。其实Mike Oldfield演唱版的歌曲都是做出来请别人唱，不过都不挂演唱者的名字，因为都发表在他的专辑中，只有专辑内页的介绍才会说。这首歌的演唱者是比利时的Dana Winner，这首歌是她的经典曲目。歌曲无比的空灵，前奏琴声有些许哀伤，而之后Dana清丽的嗓音，却让人忘却了尘世的哀伤，琴声交错着Dana透明的声音，仿佛看到她在月色朦胧的湖边飘动着、吟唱着……
