source of your other Valentine's Day.
Catherine:   Oh, we celebrate it on the seventh day of the
seventh month on the lunar calendar. We call
it "Seventh Night." According to myth, the Jade
Emperor's daughter "Girl Weaver" fell in love with
an ordinary man named "Cowherd." Together,
they had two children. However, a celestial

woman is not allowed to be with an ordinary man.
Thus, the supreme deity took her up into the
sky, separating her from Cowherd and their two
children.

Jay: Oh...that's so sad.
Catherine:   But afterwards, the Jade Emperor felt bad for them
and let them see each other one time on the seventh
day of the seventh month of the year. On that day,

Jay:   Are there many of them?

它“七夕”。传说中，玉皇大帝的女儿“织女”爱上了一
个叫做“牛郎”的凡人，跟他结婚后生了两个孩子。可仙
女是不可以跟凡人相恋的，所以天神就把织女带回天上，
让她跟牛郎还有两个孩子分开。
杰：         喔，真悲惨。
凯瑟琳：  不过后来玉皇大帝觉得他们很可怜，就允许牛郎和织女
一年可以见一次面，那一天就是七月七日。每年见面的

时候，他们两个人便相拥而泣；所以一直到现在，七夕
那一天总是会下雨。
杰：         哇，你们的情人节传说真是太浪漫、太凄美了。
凯瑟琳：  那你今年准备怎么过情人节呢？
杰：         喔，我不知道，可能会呆在家里看个电影什么的吧。
