China will further cut ticket prices for scenic areas toboost the healthy development of the tourismindustry, the country's top economic planner said.

Local authorities should complete cost surveys of 5Aand 4A scenic areas this year and lower ticket pricesthat are too high, according to a statement on thewebsite of the National Development and ReformCommission.

By the end of October, a total of 981 scenic areas had announced plans to reduce ticket pricesor waive admission fees.
