　　Liaoshen Wanbao reported the 49-year-old woman inShenyang city had claimed her husband had divorcedher 10 years ago because he disliked the shape ofher face, said to be "large and square" with "fatcheeks".

　　据辽沈晚报报道，沈阳一名49岁的女子声称，她的丈夫在10年前和她离婚了，只因为他不喜欢她的脸型，说她是“大方脸”、“大胖脸”。

　　She said it spurred her to undergo facial surgery three times at a local hospital to shave herjawbones and reshape her face into a slimmer shape. During the third surgery the doctorsdiscovered that if they proceeded further her nerves may be damaged, and halted theprocedure.

　　该女士表示，这促使她在当地医院前后接受了三次面部手术，削尖了下颌骨，将脸型重塑得更瘦一些。在第三次手术的时候，医生发现进一步的手术可能会伤害到神经，于是停止了手术。

　　The woman, identified only by her surname Wang, later sued the hospital for 1.7 million yuanin damages. She alleged the surgery had left her with soreness in her chin, and she could onlyeat and drink through a straw as "when she exerted force on her lower jaw, she had thesensation that it would break".

　　据悉，该名女子姓王，她在这之后状告医院，向院方索赔170万元。她表示，术后她感到下巴疼痛，只能借助吸管吃流食，“当下颌用力时，她感觉下颌就要裂开了”。

　　The hospital, however, argued that the surgeries were conducted according to regulations, andpointed out that they encouraged her to seek psychiatric help instead of a third operation,which she refused.

　　On Weibo, some condemned the woman's husband, but others also chastised the woman. Onetop-voted comment read: "It's purely an excuse, if her face was large then why did he decideto marry her in the first place? If he stopped loving her then he should have just said so."

　　One person noted the sharp difference in the compensation amount and voiced suspicions: "1.7 million was dropped to 20,000, it makes me wonder if she really did have a problem withher jaw."
