The family decorated a chair for Elswick's grandmother at the reception, complete with a sign that says "we know you would be here today if heaven wasn't so far away".

In an interview with Best Life, Elswick revealed her grandparents had been married for 45 years before Barbara died of colon cancer.

"I wanted to include her because she was always such an important person in my life and I don't think I could have even had a wedding without her 'there' in some way," Elwick toldBest Life.

"My grandpa helped with the trash run in their home town and he went to their house to pick up her garbage and she was outside," Elwick said, when asked how they met.

"He thought she was the most beautiful woman and asked her what her name was and he says the rest is history."
