1. will的基本用法：

1）构成将来时态，表示未来的动作。

It looks as if Jack won't be in time for the train.

看上去好像杰克不能及时赶上火车了。

2）用于第二人称疑问句表示请求。

Will you help me to carry the box to the upstairs?

你能帮助我把箱子搬到楼上吗？

3）用于各个人称，表示意愿、决心或意志。

We will never talk about the subject again.

我们绝不再谈论那个主题。

2. will在应用中需注意的问题：

1）表示习惯、倾向和决心，意为“总是，老是，一定要”。

Some birds will fly away to the south when the weather turns cold.

有些鸟天气变冷时就飞向南方。

2）表示规律，此时will do可直接用一般现在时代替。

Light (will run) runs faster than sound.

光比声传播的快。

3）表示推测，猜测，意为“想必是，一定是”。

It will be snowing now in London.

伦敦现在想必一定在下雪。

4）用于条件句中表示意愿或者礼貌的请求。

If you will help me, we can finish early.

如果你愿意帮助我，我们就能早一点完成。

5）won't用于无生命体，表示拟人化的“意愿”。

The door won't open.

这个门打不开。

If your car won't start, call me any time and I'll help.

如果你的车不能启动，可随时给我打电话，我会提供帮助的。

6）用在祈使句的反意疑问句中。

—Alice, you feed the bird today, will you ?

—But I fed it yesterday.

——可是我昨天已经喂过了。

7）表示命令、叮嘱、规定，意为“必须，一定要”。

No one will leave the examination room before the bell rings.

铃响之前任何人不能离开考场。

3. would的基本用法：

1）构成过去将来时。

She said that she would go there the next day.

她说第二天就去那里。

2）表示过去习惯性的动作（只表示对过去的回忆，不与现在对比，而used to则表示与现在对比而言，过去常做某事，现在不做此事）。

We would stay up all night talking about our favourite singer.

我们过去常常熬夜到很晚谈论我们最喜欢的歌唱家。

3）用于虚拟语气中的主句中。

If I were you, I would try another time.

若我是你，我就再试一次。

4. would在应用中需注意的问题：

1）Would you ...?表示有礼貌的请求。

Would you be so kind as to do me a favour?

请你帮我一把好吗？

2）would like sth./to do sth.意为“想做某事”。

I'd like to invite you to have dinner at my flat before I move.

我想在我搬家前请你来我公寓吃晚饭。

3）would rather do sth.意为“宁愿做某事”。

He said he would rather not do it right now.

他说他不愿意立刻做此事。

4）would rather sb. did sth.意为“宁愿让某人做某事”。

I would rather you knew that now, than afterwards.

我宁愿你现在就知道此事，而不是以后。

5）would rather do sth. than do sth. else意为“宁愿做某事也不愿做另一件事”。

He would rather die than give in .

他宁死不屈。

6）would prefer to do sth. rather than do sth.意为“更愿意做某事而不愿意做另一件事”。

He would prefer to swim rather than play football .

他更愿意去游泳也不愿意去踢足球。
